Why I love Japan
I posted this in Area 25, but it occurs to me that many of you may have missed it, and I think it's just too good to miss (granted, my judgement is sometimes a little off, but I digress).
Alright, let's see here: offset-waist alder body, bolt-on 25.5" maple neck w/rosewood fingerboard, tremolo, 2 pickups, made in Japan. What have I just described?
If you said MIJ/CIJ Jazzmaster, you're wrong:

Or try adding a little chrome for that Jag look:

Re: Why I love Japan
I love those Edwards guitars, back in my teen years, that's what I wanted to see, but nobody would make them for some reason.
I wish I had the pictures of em, but I know ESP has been making Offsets for quite awhile acutally. In the 80's they had a Jaguar style model with a vintage Strat trem and 2 angled single coils, as well as a Mustang style Kit Guitar. And Fernandez had a Mustang model as well. I saw those on that vintage guitar website that had ads for old guitars I found them at this site........

They also had a great deal of Teisco and other offset style guitars from the 60's up. It sucks that they charge $5.00 to gain access though.

I'm liking the body shape, but those floyd rose tremolos are complete heresy!

I never even noticed the extra string until you pointed it out. 7-strings are WRONG!

That "Bass IV" is just ugly! Have you guys seen the Stagg offsets?

Re: Why I love Japan
those stagg offsets look cool, but they have terrible necks and general workmanship - every one I play seems to reach a new low!

I actually like it, but I would have moved the bridge plate out of the pickguard.stereordinary wrote: That "Bass IV" is just ugly!
