Hehe, seems that any Bass VI parts that come up on the bay will be contested by offset members :)

Beautiful twins, BTW!  :?

I was gonna bid on the switch-plate.  No matter, I'm glad it's gonna be on the board.

Can my contact info get forwarded to the VI-bridge-copy-making-guy too?

And eggwheat, where have you been?  Seriously, there's more VI-players here than anywhere on the internet and we've been live for like what, six months now?  Sheesh man, get with the freakin' program!  ;)

Seriously though, your VIs are beautiful!

eggwheat..so sweet. Gorgeous. The burst looks to have a Jazzmaster bridge or is it the angle. They look like two different widths on the saddle travel measurement.

hey thanks! they have two different size bridges, the '75 has a jazzmaster size bridge and mute but it is factory original. It is factory stamped underneath 'Bass VI' This was one of the last ever made so i guess they ran out of bridges. I guess it made sense not to do a run of Bass VI bridges when the model is being discontinued. Anyway it seems to make no difference to the guitar.

What I heard...looks both ways...is that when Fender loaned the tooling for the Bass VI to Japan for the 95 reissue, they broke the tooling for the Bass VI bridge. That's the only reason I can think of why the Japanese used the Jm bridge. That even makes sense as to  why even the custom shop Bass VI bridge is the same size as the Jazzmaster. You'd think at least the Custom Shop would be able to afford new tooling. I like that extra saddle travel for those big strings. Anyone got a spare for sale?

I know on my 67 bass VI, I have to use most of the available travel on one of the saddles to get the intonation correct.
If it was a JM bridge it would never intonate correctly.
