In some threads about those new Thin Skin Jags a few people were not to pleased that they had a 9 1/ radius

Do you think thats cause what you or they have played/learned on or do yuo think the 9 1/2 radius causes you problems?

I'll ask you all the same question about the bigger frets they have on them

The Dunlop 6105s are hardly big frets.  Bigger yes, but only a little more then 6230s.  I really like that fret size actually.  The radius I'm so-so on.  I don't mind a 9.5 at all but anything other then a 7.25 on a Fender sorta stops feeling like a Fender to me.

...I've got my Jag (7.25) set up with fairly low action, and I run out of hand strength in upper register bends long before it seems to think about "fretting out" :D I think it's in the setup... I notice guitars with unshimmed necks have less of this problem, though sometimes shims are necessary... I like the radius. Comfy.

But most people won't tell the difference.

It's all preference though. same with fret size... I like small frets because they don't get in the way. Big frets people prefer to bends, but I've never been able to wrap my mind around how that makes a difference in bending.

I'm with Jay, anything other than a 7.25" doesn't really feel like a Fender.

Having said that, when I switch to something with a much flatter radius like a Reverend I really enjoy the difference .. then I enjoy the difference when I switch back to a 7.25" again .. so it's all good really.

Maybe I should keep my mouth shut ;), or maybe it's a misprint, but Dave's has their batch listed with a 7.25" radius.
