from that pic, my vote goes for a Jaguar with Jazzmaster pups...the neck looks shorter to me, so it must be a Jag neck....

of course, I'm not 100% on this....let's see what everyone else thinks :)

I vote for jag with JM pickups - the neck looks shorter, and it looks like the pickups are maybe a little closer together.

Yeah, that neck looks too small for a Jazzmaster

It also has 22 frets. Definitely a Jaguar.

Saw that guitar up close a number of times, it is definitely a Jaguar with JM pickups.

Metric is excellent in concert, by the way. Emily Haines is fantastic!!

funny that I was just thinking about this mod.
For those who play a Jaguar, would you need to cut or expand the routes underneath the pickguard? I mean, is it a difficult procedure to install JM pups? I can't imagine the worth of it if you need to seriously route your guitars body to fit them. The pickguard is one thing...

Anyway, if anyone can answer that, it would be cool to know.

Yes, the body and the pickguard would have to be routed and enlarged.

That doesn't seem worth the trouble, but I suppose this mod would be okay on a cheaper CIJ model.
I still like the idea though. It looks cool with the bigger pickups squeezed in with the chrome plates.

I guess the only logical question for me is, who here has done this?

well...this would be half the work done!

not sure if the price is right for a butchered body!!! But you could cut the re-issue plate and get make a cool vintage partscaster jazzuar!

seeing as jagmaster is already taken!

what do people reckon?

Jimmy Shaw also uses a sunburst '66 (ish) Jaguar with blocks and binding. You can see it in the "Monster Hospital" video - it's very nice. That's fitted with different pups too - a JM and a humbucker of some description, IIRC.
