i used to think the jazzmaster was the slightly uglier big sister of the jaguar, but i have come to realize that the jazzmaster has a refined, more complex beauty. it´s like the jag is the cutest girl in school, while the jazzmaster is a tall and original looking super model.
my feelings exactly.
If I went out with the Jag, we'd be drinking tecquila slammers all night, dancing on tables and end up passed out in a park somewhere.
A date with the Jazzmaster would include a lovely dinner, bottles and bottles of expensive champagne, and waking up in a bed with satin sheets
actually, both dates sound kinda familliar!!

hmm... for me it woud be...
date with jag:
dinner and movie (not too cheap, not too exclusive) we each pay for our own meals/drinks, i pay for her movie ticket. we have coffee afterwards and decide we "should do this again sometime".
date with jazzmaster:
she takes me to a cool club i´ve never been to, gets me into the VIP lounge, introduces me to a bunch of cool people, then we decide we´d rather do something else, so we shoplift some beer at 7 eleven and go to her place where we laugh and talk all night, finally falling asleep in eachother´s arms.

I like both, pretty equally really. I used to like Jazzmasters more, but since I got my Jag I've grown to love them.
Times change. Remember when dog Jimmy used to go white and chalky? Now it grows hair! We got used to it. We'll get used to poly. -blueavenger

guys guys guys, you've got it all wrong .... didn't your father tell you "... son look at the mother to see what the daughter will turn out like"
sure the mother (JM) is ok, good curves, nice breeding (don't hit me maggie
) makes nice sounds.... but it is the daughter (jag) we are all after because we know eventually we come to see the daughter as the mother and are happy with it .... so jag it is
now back to my book on freud....
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

I think the JM is a little more pleasing to the eye. Jags are kind of short and squat IMO.
Bigger in sum than parts.

Hmmm, some rather disturbing comments on this thread.
I'm a chrome lover, so the Jag does it for me.

I think Freud would have a field day with us...
But back to the question... it can't be answered;
It's like deciding which is more awesome, the Grand Canyon or Mount Everest. The Sonoran Desert in bloom or the Pacific Ocean. Your favorite Beatles tune, the fastest musclecar, faith or works, etc.
Q. Are we not men?

I must be one of the only ones that doesn't love chrome. Still think the Jag looks great, but I'd go JM all the way.

I can't decide! Brain aneurysm! Fullerplast is right, though the analogy I would have used is, "Mary Kate or Ashley?" I guess that makes me lowbrow.
any way, I CHOOSE BOTH!
Why should we buy postage stamps? We can make our own.

I think the Jag looks much nicer with all the chrome, but the JM is better for practical purposes. Although It's not without it's charm

The chrome on Jag's is a bit gaudy for me usually...the acception being a '66 Jag in firemist silver with matching headstock. I think I would give my left *you know what* for that Jag.
I think the most beautiful are the ones with the most simple, clean lines...hence my love of non-tort Jazzmasters and double-bound telecasters!

I voted for the Jaguar, I like the chrome and the space-age vibe.
Now, where's my diaper?

A jaguar is as sexy and cool as a 1957 chevy.

Jaguar definatley, though that was a pretty touch pick for me, but the Jaguar gets extra points on it's appearance being a part of making it easily servicable.
