behold the GOTHMASTER
ok, so the guitars in this thread got me thinking:
"...black jazzmaster... brushed aluminum pickguard... black pup covers.. a single brushed aluminum knob... black switch tip..."
et voila!
i was a bit sloppy making the pickguard, so the shape isn´t quite right. i´m pretty sure i´ll grow tired of it in a week or two, but at the moment i love the look.
edit: BTW, do you guys think John 5 would like it?

IMO it looks great... if you get tired of it you could ship the guard my way . I think it'd need a black headstock or something to really be a complete gothmaster.
Times change. Remember when dog Jimmy used to go white and chalky? Now it grows hair! We got used to it. We'll get used to poly. -blueavenger

well, obviouslymjet260 wrote:With his gothic steely blade, of course.Superfuzz wrote:

and i used the distilled blood of a thousand demons to etch out the pickup routes and screw holes.
seriously though, i used a regular hand held electric saw to roughly cut out the shape, and then i used a file clean it up.

It does look surprisingly good. And I agree, the black pup covers make it.

Wow, that looks really great, the silver guard matches with the worn spots in the finish in a very nice way....

Cool .. and I never thought this sentence would leave my mouth, but: the tune-o-matic bridge looks really good on it.
I agree with FireAarro about the matching black headstock .. and maybe a black trem arm tip?
It would also look cool, and a little less goth/more industrial with WRHBs in it.
