The Japanese Limited Edition Blonde Jazzmaster & Jaguar Thre
please share your experiences with these beautiful guitars...somehow with these, I don't mind the gold hardware.
There were rumours that in some places they were sold with a matching amp....but I don't think that that was ever substanciated.
The Guitars were standard edition Jazzmasters and Jaguars, with gold hardware and a yellowed Blonde finish...they were widely available in th eUK and I saw loads of them in shops back in the day....they had a special edition matching Blonde case with red-orangy insides
the serial numbers started with "LE"
Here is a scan of the ad that was on Guitarist magazine at the time (round 1994-1995)...it might look familiar from Tom's website...the marks on the corners are from the Blue-tak....I had this on my wall for a while when I was in my mid-teens and could only dream of Jazzmasters...back then we had no internet, so this was the only decent pic of a Jazzmaster and Jaguar I'd ever seen!

Re: The Japanese Limited Edition Blonde Jazzmaster & Jaguar Thread.....
I just came across this Jag. They're calling it a LE,the hardware looks like chrome instead of gold. Is that possible?
They also have 2 for sale . Could they have pulled them out of some deep dark corner of the shop? I would love to get one but "I'm so broke i can't even change my mind"

That's a new one, not an LE, you can get it from Ishibashi or anywhere anytime you want probably for cheaper. Also, it's vintage white, not blonde.Angel221 wrote: I just came across this Jag. They're calling it a LE,the hardware looks like chrome instead of gold. Is that possible?

Times change. Remember when dog Jimmy used to go white and chalky? Now it grows hair! We got used to it. We'll get used to poly. -blueavenger

I agree...I think the "special edition" thing is just a sales pitch.

Ugh.
Why do their tortoise shell guards look better than ours?!

I have one of these Jaguars. I bought it a couple years ago. Since then, I've added AVRI pickups covers (which I've aged), a mute, CTS pots, Switchcraft jack, cloth wire, Sprague orange drop tone cap, "treble bleed" mod, and Duncan vintage style pickups. These changes made a huge difference and now it sounds amazing! It has a really great elastic sound to it and sounds exactly how a Jaguar should, IMHO. These LE models also have brass shielding and aluminum pickguard shields so it is nice and quiet (like some other MIJ models from around that time). The necks are real slim on them too, which is a nice contrast with the AVRIs. Overall, I think these are great guitars!

She is one of my absolute favorites, ever!zhivago wrote: PJ Harvey!
I've seen a couple photos at one point of her sitting next to a gold guard Jazzmaster. It may have been a studio shot though, so it's hard to tell if it is/ was her's or not. I can't wait until she releases something else. If the next wait is on par with the gap between Stories and Uh huh her, it might be a while yet

Re: The Japanese Limited Edition Blonde Jazzmaster & Jaguar Thread.....
was it a red gold guard?
if so, it belonged to a woman who was her touring guitarist...the same touring guitarist had a blocks & binding sunburst JM too...I got tons of PJ on dvd, and the two Jazzmasters feature a lot on all the shows were that guitarist played

No, I know who you're talking about. It wasn't one of those two. This one was a nice looking sunburst. I'll have to see if I can find the photo I'm thinking of.

Okay, I found one of the photos I was thinking of. You can't actually see that it is a burst in this photo ( I am pretty sure it is though):
Here is one of the red one that you mentioned :
As a disclaimer of sorts, both photos were taken from PollyHarvey.co.uk. Any photo credits can be found there.
