Re: kurt cobains jaguar
Well, I'll jump in and embarrass myself. A few years ago I got one of those cheap Danelectro Rumor basses and I upgraded the pickup to a SD Quarter Pounder. Decided I wanted a bass that felt a little more substantial in my hands, and I'd have to install the QP pickup. Turns out there was one bass on the market that already came with it... the Mark Hoppus bass. So yeah, for the past 3 years I have played that on stage and for recording. I like the band too, but that isn't why I bought it. Maybe I do look like a poseur. I also really like the Mike Dirnt bass, I keep debating picking one up.

Depends on the signature model. A lot of the fender sig guitars and basses are nowhere near the same thing that the actual player plays, so you're really just getting an overpriced MIM or MIJ version of the guitar. I'd rather save up and get something that is exactly what I(the person playing the instrument) wants and not what the artist wants. Then there are other signature guitars which are actually pretty amazing instruments such as EJ strat and John Mayer strat, which are on par with top of the line fenders and for similar prices and don't look like a sig guitar. I'd have no problem with owning a signature guitar, but I'd probably end up modding the instrument in someway or another to make it my own.

ya like ive said before i have my own ideas just sometimes they work out better on certan sigs like (im gonna get alot of crap for this but i cant even afford it so dont freak out ha) the tom delonge sig model i love hollow bodies and one pick up guitars and i liek the paint job and stuff but i would peobobly change the pick up eventuily even tho i liek the dirty fingers they dont sound very good on hollow bodies

Times change. Remember when dog Jimmy used to go white and chalky? Now it grows hair! We got used to it. We'll get used to poly. -blueavenger

Re: kurt cobains jaguar
The neck on there is actually a real vintage 65 neck. The headstock was broke in two and at some point repaired with screws. I found in at Last Chance guitars in Des Moines, IA. I looked at it about a dozen times before I finally bought it. It plays really well.

Re: kurt cobains jaguar
It started life out as a normal MIJ jaguar reissue. It was severly modified when I got my hands on it back in 1998 and I just kept modifying it.
Shortly after I was finally done working on it is when I saw that Ikebe started with their line of KC custom Jaguars. Theirs are nice also!!

I bet doing it yourself is more satisfying. And the neck's probably better

Re: kurt cobains jaguar
I am sure the neck is better...but struggling with finding an inexpensive bound neck was a pain!!
