Hi,
I finally scored a JM after 30 years of lusting after one.
It’s a 1996 MIJ designed for and in conjunction with The Ventures.
Sure it has a bit of unnecessary bling but it plays beautifully & sounds amazing (the Ash body & Seymour Duncan Antiquity I’s sure do help). The black burst over Ash is spectacular.
Oh and that tremolo action is heavenly.

Thanks! I'm actually not sold on the black guard myself. I'm going to purchase one tort and one mint, so I can switch them out on a whim. Switching pickguards can sometimes temporarily subdue my eternal GAS.

Finally got a tort guard on there, I like it. What do you think?

It looks better than I thought it would!!

Haha, I actually thought so too. This guard is from WD Music, but I will probably get a Spitfire eventually.

I like the black guard much better with that color....especially with the maple neck and black marker dots, switch tips, and control knobs..

I like tort with some colors and have a couple.........but I don't think tort looks good with all colors. The black pg on that solid green, and on similar colors like the new Sonic gray just offers a nicer and crisper contrast IMO. Add tort = too many different colors......

Interesting, I can understand that perspective. I'm probably going to get a mint or cream one as well, then swap them out every now and then to suite my mood.

Yes - I've done that before. Had white, black, (brown) tort, and mint on my surf green jag. After a couple of rounds, the mint stayed on that one.

BTW, congrats on the new AmPro Jag!
