Re: Post pics of your guitar family
Everytime I feel like thinning out my collection I see a thread like this that makes me want to buy more guitars. Oh well, here's mine anyway.

Thanks! I actually had a strat, but sold it to get the Guild. Hopefully, one day I'll pick up another one.Pacafeliz wrote: jgs61, that's classic! got all the essentials - not like so many of us with TOO much (?!) gear... heh
nice, real nice!
Pat.
ps: ok, but you really NEED a strat man!
Haddock, my LP is a '76. I love it. I've had it for a very long time. I love those natural customs from the 70s. I really dig 70's Gibsons. It's ridiculous that they get a bad wrap. I've had several over the years and I think they're awesome guitars. I wish I could have kept them all. Yours looks like a 3-piece top like mine...
What's the toggle switch you've got with the control knobs? A coil tap?
Everybody's got some beautiful stuff here. Nonemoreblack, I love the Firebird.

Yes, the switch is a coil tap for the bridge DiMarzio pickup, most probably a DP-100 Super Distortion. I made no changes myself, I bought the guitar like this in '96.jgs61 wrote: Haddock, my LP is a '76. I love it. I've had it for a very long time. I love those natural customs from the 70s. Also, the serial is from '75 but it is probably a very early one, as the neck has a "25th anniversary" inlay that was standard for the Custom in '74.
I love the fingerboard, low large frets on ebony, these Customs have such a nice neck ...
Anyway, I'm glad to find another "natural" Custom from this time period, they're quite rare I think, most were black, white or dark red.

You're right about the color. I rarely see other naturals. Occasionally I see some naturals with maple fingerboards... not for me.
I feel the same way about the neck. I love the frets and the neck profile. That's mainly the reason I have never been able to part with it!

"Most played" family members (94 MIJ Jag, 97 MIK Sheraton, 88 Catalina) - there is also an Ibanez P-Bass copy and an old Maxim lap slide under the bed.
... and the Sheraton's hardware has been stripped back to chrome now:
