Anyone got a spare stark-white switch tip for JM?

Post by FrankieBreakBones » Sun Aug 17, 2008 8:52 pm

Hi, it's the new guy again.
After scanning the forum, I've found a lot of people went from stark-white to aged-white covers, tips, and knobs on their Jazzmasters.
Since I have to be so freaking different, I went the other way - aged to stark.
Got my covers from one place, my trem tip from a second place, my knobs from a third.
That last little spot of aged-white on the switch tip is driving me batshit.
Can't find them anywhere online. Tried 5 places in NYC.

Is there anyone out there who went from stark to aged have their old stark white switch tip in a drawer of spare parts somewhere?
So this is what OCD feels like...  :'(

I think the tip is easy enough to remove- if not 5 minutes in boiling water does the trick

I think he's talking about the tip on the toggle switch.  ;)

How about here:

Sorry, should clarify:
Yes, the toggle switch.
The threading on the switch itself (onto which one screws the tip cover) is about twice the width of the threading on gibson and ibanez guitars. So as far as I can tell, it's a completely unique part. (Thanks Fender, wtf...)

It's just metric vs. non-metric...

You need the opposite of whichever one you have now.

I bought a Gibson tip for my AVRI, and the aged AVRI tip fit my CIJ perfectly.  I don't see what the problem is...
