Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

They're great amps. Mine is 25 years old now! Still going strong.

It's just the flash showing how the finish isn't really shiny anymore. Other than the couple photos taped on it, there's nothing else on there.mikkiki wrote: what's up with that '66 black jazzmaster? the mirrors or whatever that is.

I have a pignose clone (Dynamite) that is about the same age - I got it for free from a relative that was a pro bass player earlier in his life - I can't get a sound out of it at the moment....but it looks good in the bookshelf though!Maggieo wrote:the older brother wrote: Maggie!

Re: New photo day, some group shots
that first picture in the first post just FLOORS ME.
I have an unhealthy obsession with blocks/binding on Fenders.
My dream is still a maple neck with pearl blocks/binding.
I'd probably eat someone for it.
....Alive style.

Re: New photo day, some group shots
I think that black '66 JM is my favourite on this forum, even beating Frank's. I've had an obsession for black-tortoise-blocks since seeing Doug Hart's (J&MC) jazz bass in that combo. The stupid thing is, if I put my '69 neck on my '64 guitar, I'd sort-of have a combo like that, but for obvious reasons I cannot bring myself to do that.
However, if Fender ever decides to recognize my influence on the progression of mankind and all that's good in the universe, maybe they'll do an OG sig model like that .

maggie--- your a stud!
I'm glad there are a lot of guitar players pursuing technique as diligently as they possibly can, it leaves this whole other area open to people like me.

I have always loved that combo, too. Thta was actually the first '66 I ever had, too. I know most people seem to like the pre CBS stuff more, but that one was really the exact sound I was looking for. Then I got that second '66 from DDD and it sounds almost exactly like the first one. I love the other ones too, but the '66s are my favorite for sure.
When they come out with the Doc z model, I'll be first on the list
