The name is cheesy but hey it's memorable. And they're consistent.

Try shopping for Ibanezes, that are named like HVAC parts, or ESP, who randomly decides to change their headstock names every other year.

I remember trying to find albums by The Band on early eBay. At least I already had their s/t. I dread to think of someone searching google in 2001 ‘for The Band - The Band vinyl album’
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

Especially from a marketing point of view. Potential customers googling "Vintage guitar" to try to find your products online are gonna have a hard time.

I cancelled the amp, just going to get a Traynor small combo instead. Cooler name too. :P

Vintage is the one that bothers me most. At least if you put Harley Benton in a search engine you’ll find their guitars. All Vintage is good for is cluttering my saved searches on classified sites and the big online platforms with gunk. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve clicked a thumbnail to see if it’s some oddball Japanese vintage only to be sorely, sorely disappointed.

I guess Harley Benton could’ve done better if they were going for the American/British thing - Chad Compton; Ted Grosvenor; Kathleen Sacksville; nope, they’re all as terrible - but there are worse offenders out there. Maybe.

That’s a point. Any guitar makers out there named after a woman? Any prominent female luthiers? I’ve just never thought about it before, but I’m stumped if I can conjure up any.
Regarding Vintage brand guitars I have come up with a workaround putting "Vintage JHS" before searching for their guitars/basses.

I’ve played a few Aria Pro II guitars. All were excellent, but the brand name I always thought was clumsy.

Let us not forget Oscar Schmidt. Sounds like one of the pirates in Peter Pan.

Two of the top luthiers here in Vancouver are women. Nicole Alosinac and Meredith Coloma. Coloma Guitars also makes a killer offset, the Freya.

I've played a Freya before, nice nonsense guitar. Fender offset meets Kiesel deal.

Just US-Canadian-Western Europe guitar makers listed below, though there are a bunch of gifted violin family luthiers:

Catherine "Cat" Fox USA
Elizabeth Henderson USA
Sophie Dockx Belgium
Peggy White Canada
Linda Manzer (already covered upthread) Canada
Mamie Minch (also already mentioned) USA
Maegen Wells USA
Kathy Wingert USA
Noemi Schembri Italy
Claudia Pagelli (works with husband Claudio- their stuff is way cool and out there) Switzerland
Rosie Heydenrich UK
Daisy Tempest UK
Joshia De Jonge Canada
Christina Kobler Austria
(edited to add)
Sharleen Simmons (not currently building, I'm told) Canada
Meredith Coloma Canada

A few of these do mostly high-end repairs like Cat and Mamie, and Sophie primarily designs pickups and hardware these days; the rest are builders.

I heard Fender is in the process of changing its name to:

"Jeff Beck Played These Motherfuckers"

Benton alone, wouldn't be too, too bad. You could even say things like:

Yo dudes, check out my new Benton copy of a Jay Turser Mustang copy!
