^its rather hilarious now that combined there are probably more FSR Jazzmasters and Jags listed online in Japan than the regular standard models.

I’ve seen quite a few bigger stores having to put some on discount or list them as “used” (so they can export them out) just to move them on.

The Inca ones have either been taken down or probably all snapped up and possibly en route to the “usual” MIJ specialist sellers. Am taking a wild guess of US$2500 asking price since a new matching headstock Inca Jag is rare AF 🤔
I got one of the inca silver ones, and I'm not a dealer! Just an end user.

They posted 5x of the inca silver ones, I emailed them shortly after they were posted and I had my pick of them at that time. Seems like they added them to the site in the very early morning Japan time. Kinkos opens at noon, but Kaz had put mine on hold before then.

More inca ones are coming Dec 4th, so just email Kaz right away after they are posted, and you'll get one. You're probably competing mostly with "dealers" like MM who just want to rip people off.
Great to know! Going to try to pick one up if they restock (which looks like may happen in spring 2024)

Fender Traditional Jazzmaster in Sonic Blue with matching headstock

Just saw this on Fender Australia as an online exclusive, it’s a MIJ Traditional 60s II in Sonic Blue with matching headstock. Haven’t seen it anywhere else, not even on Japanese sites, wondering if it is an Oz exclusive 🤔

For some reason its on 15% discount too.

Yeah that's an interesting one - I'd be skeptical of an Oz exclusive just with how generally out of the loop Fender Australia seems to be.

My guess would be a very very small number 2022 run. I remember someone earlier saying those Fiesta Red Jaguars this year had a run of only about 30 and saw it was you Iffymiffy haha.

I've got a feeling this has been mislabeled as daphne. But this is much closer to what I'd call Daphne blue and the serial number is only 3 numbers difference.

The third picture from this dude on reddit seems to be the same model. He explains in the comments he added the mint pickguard.

That's a giant-ass cat!
As far as Maine Coons go, that one is an average size. I've seen them larger and they're incredible cats but they shed and its the breed sadly I am allergic to the most. Buddy of mine on the IOM had 3 and I bout near died of sneezing fits, watery eyes and abhorrent sore throat. Came home to my cats they're fine.

Ah that explains it! Maybe they found an old stash at the back of their warehouse! Funny was just looking for a Jazzmaster switch and for some reason that popped up on google search.

Anyway, funny you bring the FSR Fiesta Red Jag from earlier this year up as it seems that there has just been a small restock in Japan, so don’t be surprised if they turn up on our fave MIJ resellers IG feeds soon :)

Yeah well spotted. It's funny that some FSRs take off and others seem to have such a low-key launch. As far as I can tell this is basically identical to a Kinko release in that it's shop specific specs.

And the price! Before shipping it's just over $1600 Australian. 5 years ago I would've said it's on the expensive side now seems a pretty competitive deal.

I do have to say I think Kinko take the superior glamour shots :D

Yes, most other shops just list them up like any other release, Kinko seems to have clocked on how a bit of marketing or catering towards to the “export” market can help shift product faster.

Regarding specs, they’re almost the exact same as the current Kinko Jags, but these have a trad bridge, 9.5” radius amber tinted neck with no binding. Compared to a Vintera II Jag the price is rather attractive indeed.

My friend has one and fit, finish and looks are all amazing! Apart from that “groovy” looking rug, the Fiesta Red and plastic part colours look exactly like the above pictures.

The sonic blue Heritage series JM has turned up on the Fender Japan website, but not at Kinko. I see it on the Rockin website where that Fiesta Red Jag is, but didn't find any info on International orders there. Has anyone ordered from Rockin?

If it's one of these I'm sure Ishibashi has a lot of export experience - it was a little while ago but buying my CIJ Jaguar was a really easy experience.

From memory they are reluctant/unable to send brand new Fender guitars overseas.

Anything used from their 'Ubox' site is fine though - and their service is excellent.

That's my bad in that case. Realised after posting 'a little while ago' is actually approaching 10 years :wtf: . There is a separate url for international customers and those Jazzmasters aren't listed.

I use digimart for the majority of my Fender Japan scrolling and it looks like a few Rockin' stores are listed on their worldwide shipping list. Ishibashi are listed too so it may be worth sending Rockin' an email to see if they're able Downman.

If not able to purchase directly, I've had good experiences using ZenMarket to purchase guitars from Japanese retailers.

Does anyone know what pickups are in the Kinko FSR model Jaguars? It looks like the new Inca silver models specify it has the PV65 pickups, but the older models do not. I have one of the 2023 Sherwood green models, and I read somewhere that they might be Vmods? I feel like they sound brighter than vmods but not quite as bright as the PV65s, but I’m not sure..

Here's a thread suggesting they are V-mods.

Both the Jaguars and the Jazzmasters for the standard and Kinko FSR models have been listed as "Vintage-Style Single Coil Jaguar/Jazzmaster." The Jazzmasters seem like they might still be V-mods but I'm still not sure about the Jaguars. Here are some DCR comparisons from my Jaguars using a cheap multimeter, and mine are significantly lower output than what V-mods are listed as, which makes me think they may be their own thing.

2022 MIJ Late 60s Jaguar: 6.1k neck, 6.1k bridge
2023 Kinko FSR Jaguar: 6.2k neck, 6.4k bridge

V-Mod Jaguar listed as: 8.1 neck, 9.0k bridge
PV65 Jaguar listed as: 6.8k neck, 6.8k bridge
