STOLEN GUITAR IS STOLEN NO MORE! Deep Seat Guitars Silverburst
The world wild web is a small one, especially the offset guitar community. You may remember my earlier post about the guitar getting lost here:viewtopic.php?f=6&t=116379
I custom ordered this guitar back in June 2018 (I was 25 then lol, and had a full time job ) and unfortunately the build dragged on, add to it that the workshop caught fire and closed down. Finally in March this year it was sent from Sweden to Berlin, but along the way was stolen. Bummer? Uh-huh. Having literally dreamt multiple times of it being returned, I ultimately faced the reality that it was most likely never going to be found, no matter how unique and one of a kind it is. I mean look at Beatles' gear that never was recovered!
Suddenly, on July 14, I get a message on Instagram from a stranger claiming he saw my guitar for sale in Romania of all places, and sent a link to the ad which went along the lines "new electric guitar in good condition, bought from abroad" aka stolen lmao. Eventually more people started writing me, trying to speak with the seller and help me get ahold of "the Silverburst" (as it has come to be known by me and my friends). To keep an already long story short, although IT WENT AWOL IN THE HANDS OF UPS FOR TWO DAYS (!) , the guitar arrived safe and sound to my address.
Anyways, I've been playing it since, still not really grasping that it actually is here. I want to thank everyone who reposted this on social media, on offsetguitars.com, Jiri and PIA Vintage Guitars for trying to help me get in touch with the seller and a very special thanks to Valeriu who coordinated the whole thing and got it into my hands.
Lastly Daniel Björklund aka Deep Seat Guitars you did a great job, this thing plays so well and looks the part. I'm sure I'll play it for the rest of my living days. Life goal now is to meet J Mascis and have him try it out.
Coming up I will be installing a Descendant vibrato that I got from James' Home of Tone in the UK. It is also my first Mastery equipped guitar and I will try and install a Staytrem 7.25" bridge I got ahold of today through the Jazzmasters & Jaguars group on Facebook to see whether the Mastery is really worth all that money or not. ♀️
Also fuck PostNord.

Cool! So did the seller just hand it over? Or was there some persuading involved?

Woooooah!!! That's soooo awesome!!!
I read your previous thread and was so hoping for a happy end and there it is. So good.
also: waits 2 years for a guitar, recieves it eventually and starts modding instantly...

Awesome!
I remember you saying Postnord paid you back what it cost after it went missing... So technically you scored this guitar for way cheaper than it would have been, even if you paid of the seller?

Very astute you are! No, just kidding. Yeah after I paid for the guitar+shipping+an amount as thank you for the help, I split the remainder with the builder and donated what was left to charity. Pay it forward and all that.

That's a class act, man. Turning a shitty situation into the happiest ending possible for everyone except Postnord, and fuck 'em anyway.
