Fender MasterBuilt Meteora
Ron Thorn did it again!
From what I’ve seen from his work at Fender -that guy does an amazing job!
I was very skeptical and not at all overwhelmed when the first series got announced/released... but either the design has grown on me or it’s ”just“ the classy color combination... maybe even my search for my perfect Custom Telemaster Pickguard has something to do with it... whatever: this one actually looks great and is worth pointing out and discussing! Also the TV Jones pickups are a cool detail (to me)!

Re: Fender MasterBuilt Meteora
That is so cool! The bog-standard Meteoras are so... meh.
That's brilliant! I have TV Jones p/u in my Gretsch. I had a Cabronita with them, as well. I loved the sound, but I've never been able to get on with the Tele body shape.
Not much of a fan of the body shape on the Meteora, either, that is, I wasn't a fan until I saw this.

A cool definition of "retro-futuristic".

It's just nice to see a Custom Shop Fender use good-looking tort. Normally they have that printed pepperoni garbage.
As a lover of Gretsch guitars and filtertrons, I'm kinda into it. If you made it red and black, it seems like something Bo Diddley might have been into.

Pretty guitar for sure, but functionally just another "melted telecaster" to me.........

I'm really liking that! Can it be had with a Tremelo or Bigsby?

I just think this design is not a Fender design.
It's not a bad design.
It would just look better with Gibson hardware/neck or something crazy like Jackson hardware.

Personally I LOVE this. Block inlay should be a standard on the meteora. I wish the original blonde meteora had a HH setup, loved the look of that guitar minus the tele pickups and bridge. I like the hard tail bridge on this better than the MIM adjusto-matic

This ^^^
The only thing Fender about it is the headstock - and that's completely widowed from the body lines/shape.
It's like a space-suit with flip-flops.

Buy a Player Jazzmaster and put Filtertrons in place of the HumbuckersTafarel wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 7:50 amThat is so cool! The bog-standard Meteoras are so... meh.
