I'm gonna convert

Post by mysticguitar » Tue Jun 30, 2020 2:53 pm

So I want to put a 24 3/4 convertion neck, warmouth, on my Tele or my Strat, has any one done this? There asking what kind of neck profile...if I tell them 60s C shape, will they know what that means? How much is tone affected by the shorter scale? Thanks

.

Generally the 60s necks are skinny and 50s necks are chunky. Make sure you choose wisely.

Tone for the shorter scale is usually caused by the pickup/pots/caps choices. The picukps are generally in the same locations relative to the scale length so you won't see much tone change from that. However, if you are using 22 fret vs 24 fret that is the difference between LP and SG or Strat neck vs middle pickups.

This is the offset section. Post this kind of thing in tech and setups.
