Where are you picking it up from? I couldn't find any guitar resembling a JM with the Onyx brand on US ebay.

Some quick research reveals that Onyx was an Australian rebadge for Korean made guitars in the 80s which has recently been revived (only this time the badge is going on Chinese made guitars). Are you an Ocker by any chance? Because I don't think that brand exists beyond your shores (except maybe New Zealand or some of the Pacific island nations and territories?)

Google is surprisingly quiet on the subject. This is the closest thing I could find, and I'm kind of glad I looked lol! How crazy is this???

It was for sale for $799 (on sale) I plugged it in and it had major problems. None of the pots did anything, it has massive feedback when dirt was added.

I got it for $99.

Hang on,

I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad guitar at all. Lots of budget brands churn out decent stuff.
But it's clear to see that's a budget guitar that's come out of some Chinese factory in recent years. You find similar ones for just about 100€ every day on eBay and similar sites.

Someone actually tried to sell this for 799$? Hong Kong dollars?

It actually plays better than some fenders and squiers that I've played
The neck is beautiful. The finish is impeccable
It may look it in the picture but the mint coloured pickguard actually fits flawlessly.

I rate this guitar as literally one of the best I've ever played.
