Meteora w/black hardware
I thought the Meteora would look better without the shiny chrome hardware. Yesterday I went for it and made it black instead. I wasn't a fan of the weird volume control swapping button, and I'm still deciding what to do there. Maybe a kill switch? Anyway, here it is.

Interesting move! I don't dislike it but I think I like mine much more (it is stock).

I like it more than I thought I would.
As for the switch, a series/parallel switch looks like a natural fit - those humbuckers look high-inductance (invader in the bridge?) and those usually sound good in parallel.

Re: Meteora w/black hardware
I went black with my custom Meteora. I am using black hardware a lot with my basses.

Both of the guitars posted in here look sick and are genuinely the first and second time I’ve seen a Meteora and not hated it

I like that a lot! Excellent job. I was thinking of doing a white Powercaster like that, but found a great deal on the Meteora and jumped on it instead, and decided to go all in on the black.

Thanks! It took some time to grow on me. It's a great player now, and much less awkward in person than in pictures. Fender made some weird calls on this one. The stock wiring is absolutely nuts too. I'm glad I decided to get a new pickguard and do the whole thing from scratch.Mechanical Birds wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 11:51 amBoth of the guitars posted in here look sick and are genuinely the first and second time I’ve seen a Meteora and not hated it

The black hardware change in your Meteora is totally a good move.

I quite like the white one! Was gonna say I'm not a fan of the mismatched saddles, but then I saw it's just the light reflection.
Perhaps if the OP one had a white pickguard I would appreciate it a lot more.

Love it! Super cool! I live lpb with black. Not sure if these are considered lpb or something else but same idea. I did that with my pawn shop mustang. Pickguard only in my case but this is cool!

I went with a kill switch. It's a lot of fun!
