Fender Blues color spectrum

Finally, any fans of Cerulean Blue? It’s an absolutely amazing colour. I saw one of these Strats in my local shop a couple of years ago and it was even more beautiful in real life:

That Cerulean Blue was part of an FSR Classic Series 50s 60s Strat run for Guitar Center in 2015. That blue (and the series' Apple Green) excite my retinas no end. If I ever walk into a shop and find one of these it's mine, credit card balance be damned.

I hear you. I went to the shop to buy a pedalboard and nearly walked out with the Stratocaster! Definitely a unique colour. It's right at the point on the spectrum where it's not quite blue and not quite green but something wonderful in between. I couldn't justify buying a 2nd Strat, but if it were easy and affordable to refinish my Sonic Blue CP 60's in Cerulean I'd be all over that.

Taos Turquoise is another nice (and rare) colour in the blue/green range, but it's much 'flatter' compared to Cerulean Blue or Ocean Turquoise.

That Taos Turquoise is great. I've come to think that darker wood boards work best with turquoises. That's just me.
Speaking of Turquoise I got the hankering for a dedicated electric in Nashville tuning. I had a decent MIM Standard Strat neck sitting around so I bought a Squier Bullet hardtail in Tropical Turquoise to put it on. New plastics, saddles and pickups on order. I'll post it on the non-offset board when I get it done. The color is very close to the Eric Johnson Strat Tropical Turquoise. Great color.

Every Strat I've ever had was blue. Lake Placid, Sonic, and Agave. Odd.

The new Vintera Jags are gorgeous. If I didn’t already have the Ocean Turquoise AO Jazzmaster I don’t know if I could have resisted buying one.

Those strats from above are beautiful too. Is the Cerulean Fender color sort of like a deeper/greener shade of Daphne almost? Kinda looks it from the pic. That’s what I thought of the Taos as well. Really love those colors. Anyway, I spent this whole thread talking blues but I got a new Jag in the post today and it’s white (the Am Pro one and no regrets at all here). At some point I see something ice blue in my future though. But also the Squier Tele in that race green is really pretty too and I don’t have a Tele at the moment and it’s really affordable which is dangerous.

Thanks : ) I'm glad to say it sounds just as good as it looks! I’m pretty sure it’s exactly the same colour as any other OTM Fender (including the stunning Tele that Futuron posted) but that’s the best thing about OTM - it always looks different depending on the light and no two photos seem to come out the same.

I think that sums it up nicely (if you mean ‘deeper’ in the sense of ‘more intense/vibrant’ as opposed to ‘darker’). When the Strat in question first caught my eye in the shop I thought it was Daphne Blue. It took me a few moments after picking it up and admiring the finish to realise it was one of the Cerulean FSR’s.

The photo I posted earlier is accurate, I’d say. It’s not quite blue enough to be Daphne, and not green enough to be in the Surf / Seafoam range. It’s more of a light turquoise. My brain actually struggles a little to process the colour when I look at it, which is exactly why I’m so drawn to it.
