MIM Player Series Jazzmaster colours
Good morning - my first post here.
I really like the look of the Player Series Jazzmaster with the humbuckers and simple tone controls. I have the standard MIM Mustang and quite fancy having a Jazzmaster of comparable quality/finish/spec. and these would fit the bill perfectly.
Problem is that I don't like the 4 colours I can see on Fender's website - sunburst, buttercream, capri orange and polar white.
Have these ever been made in any other colours, or have any new colours been rumoured lately?
Thanks

Pretty sure there's also Tidepool, which is a sorta turquoise-y colour, as well as Sonic Red, which is a fairly bright red.

Tidepool is on the Jaguar but not the Jazzmaster. Same for the red I believe.
There was sage green metallic, sadly that one is now gone. I thought it the pick of the bunch. I can't remember what else there was to start with, there should be a post from mid to late 2018 on here with all of them shown or listed.

For the Jazzmaster it was called "Sage Green" and looked a bit like a faded Ice Blue Metallic or Firemist Silver - so pretty dope! You could get lucky on some used-market sites - I saw one recently on ebay-kleinanzeigen in Germany for 480€(!!!). There is also this limited Player model that has Jazzmaster Pickups but a Strat-style toggle - no rhythm circuit - and a Mint guard on an Ice Blue Metallic finish (still available at Thomann - I think it was praised as a limited edition for Chicago Music Exchange when it first came out). Both look absolutely fantastic to me! :-)
If I haven't gone the custom route I would have probably bought either one of those two or the Vintera in Ice Blue Metallic.

Apologies! A Tidepool on the Jazzmaster would have looked cool though.Futuron wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 3:14 amTidepool is on the Jaguar but not the Jazzmaster. Same for the red I believe.

I've found an aged natural finish, exclusive to CME. It's my clear favourite but I already have their faded mocha Mustang and it's too similar.
Are the colours likely to get a refresh at any point? How often do Fender do this?

impossible to say really, the jag had a super limited pink release too. the series they had before this, i think it was called the standard? those were almost the same and had a good looking black one and a limited matching headstock white one.marcainley wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 6:37 amI've found an aged natural finish, exclusive to CME. There are several Sage Green ones on Reverb. As of this post 10 are brand new.
I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

Re: MIM Player Series Jazzmaster colours
I've come across this limited edition Player in beautiful Ice Blue Metallic, but the specs are also slightly different. I'm sure it's also available from other resellers.
* Pickups: 2 New Player AlNiCo II P90 single coil
* 3-way pickup slider
* Original correct trem placement (!)
* Perhaps other things?

That's the same as the CME exclusive. They buggered the specs, tho. Those aren't P90s, those are Pure Vintage '65s. They're exclusive in the US to CME, might be exclusive to Thomann, also.Nick and the Noise wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 11:10 amI've come across this limited edition Player in beautiful Ice Blue Metallic, but the specs are also slightly different. The pics on Thomann show screw polepieces. They're definitely P90s, and the pickguard looks like it could be a different color from the CME one.

Wow, didn't see that coming! Another option is always good.

I found something I liked and swapped for one of my Mustangs. Very happy with it, so far.
