I’m hearing rumors of a Yvette Young signature Talman floating around. The YY10.
yup

I love her choice of color. A Slime Green sparkle Talman will be hard for me to resist.

I'm excited about the new Squier releases as well. I'll definitely be getting a Tornado and possibly a Cyclone too.

Was gassing for a Squier Super Sonic until I saw that they will be made in China. Darn it!!
I agree here. I do think the Chinese quality is pretty decent lately, but have a hard time supporting them as a country. Sometimes it's unavoidable, but where there's other options I'll always chose other. Although Indonesia has its own issues, it doesn't have the influence on the world China has/is looking to have.
Actuallly , the serial number is CY so I think it’s made in Taiwan . Squier moved all his production from China to Indonesia and Taiwan.

Yep. CY: C = China, Y = Yako (Taiwan)
I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

Uke-an't be serious?

Is this real or Photoshop? I can't work out how I feel about it.
An interesting thing to note on these is the Jazzmaster decal with the fancy bits on the side. It's also on the Strat and Tele version as well, and the decal looks a bit haphazardly slapped on on those two. Seems to be a rare example of the offset being the main plan and the Strat / Tele being an afterthought!
Sorry to disappoint you but the logo cloud?/smoke? embellishments have been found on Fender ukuleles for a while now.

As a former and long-time owner of one of the early Mexican Toronados, I do wonder why Fender thinks that model will fare well this time around. Toronados never really got a lot of traction in their first run. Hell, I only got one because I wanted an offset but all the Jazzmasters were too expensive then. The Toros started out pretty nice but seemed to get "cheaper" the longer Fender offered them. I sold mine a couple of years ago: It was well-made, but the stock pickups weren't great and I ultimately preferred a Fender, and not Gibson, scaled guitar. Who knows, maybe a Squier price point is what it will take to move what's effectively an SG in offset clothes.

I'm so stoked for this release! I just wish I could find someone that is carrying it.

Just pre-ordered the black on black Lead II from American Musical! Looks like they're expected to ship out in a few weeks, so fingers crossed

The Squier price point is very relevant in this case. I don't dislike SG's, but something about the body looks off (too small, I think). Toronado wins the competition in terms of looks.

I am really interested in the new Epiphone SG Standard 61 Maestro Vibrola ($550). I have been wanting to try a guitar with a maestro vibrola. I picture it being somewhere in between a bigsby and a JM trem. I just can't personally justify dropping $2000 on a Gibson.

I acknowledge the earlier ones with the Duo-esque string-through bridge are ‘best’ but the GT is the one I always wanted (and for a while they were cheap and plentiful) :

Offsets weren’t as popular back then, there is now nostalgia/precedent with this model (if even only a bit - I remember seeing and sort of wanting one in high school, seeing John Frusciante play one in the Can’t Stop music video etc.)

King Buzzo: I love when people come up to me and say “Your guitar sound was better on Stoner Witch, when you used a Les Paul. “...I used a Fender Mustang reissue on that, dumbass!
