Hello ,
I just received my Squier Classic Vibe Mustang .
I’m very Happy . It looks and feels very good .
The neck is Great , I love the shape and the tint. I like the narrow tall frets. The bone nut seems well cut and the tuners are very good .
I’ m not the biggest fan of Indian laurel ( I like Pau Ferro much better ) but it will be ok with some Lemon oil.
The set up was pretty good out of the box . Nice pretty low action with no buzz and the intonation is almost perfect . But the strings are pretty bad , I need to put some new ones tomorrow . And I need to find a way to set up the vibrato the best it can be .
The pickups sounds pretty good too but are not loud at all .
My first impression is that it is a really Great guitar for the price.
I have now a Stracatsrer on the way ! It should be home by the end of the week ;-) .

Congrats - glad you're happy with it out of the box
Be careful with any adjustments you make to the vibrato; the Mustang's pivots are very sensitive, so I urge you to only make adjustments with the strings removed or loosened. If you're having tuning issues on up-bend, it usually helps to set the springs at the highest tension 'notch' on each post (farthest from the plate.) Good luck!

Yes - congrats!
I’ve one the same, and really like it too. I agree 100% with Danley about the pivots. The pivots in the trem plate on mine were a bit chewed up, possibly from me not following that advice. I very carefully cleaned them up with a Dremel and all is well now.
I put a couple of coats of dark furniture scratch cover on my fretboard before oiling it, and it looks good.
Enjoy!

Re: NGD !!! Mustang Monday - Squier Classic Vibe Mustang
One week with my Classic Vibe Mustang and I’ m totaly in love with it .
The neck is awesome . I just want to play it all the time .
At First , I was thinking that the pickups are too weak and that I will probably change them but I learned to love them .
They are pretty low output but they are very articulate and unique .
I set up the vibrato and now it stays in tune even when I use it . Great Great guitar.

Re: NGD !!! Mustang Monday - Squier Classic Vibe Mustang
Congrats! I have its predecessor, the Squier Vintage Modified Mustang. FWIW, I ended up swapping out the stock pickups and put in a set of Seymour Duncan Antiquity II The 60's Myth For Mustang pickups. Sounds great and quite similar to my two vintage Mustangs ('65 & '66). Highly recommend if you decide to look into pickup options.

For whatever reason Mustangs seem inclined to be lower output guitars; maybe it’s due to the covers preventing pickups from being raised too high. To counter-act I have beefier singles (Rose Buff Beauties/Seymour Duncan Hots) in mine - I may swap one back to vintage output for fun though. The lower output set I had was great with a fuzz. Glad you like yours as-is
