Hi everybody !
I just bought a japanese Jazzmaster. The pickups are SP Custom P-90. They sound good, but I want a classic single coil sound, especially in the neck position.
Someone is selling pickups coming from a 60th anniversary Jazzmaster on the internet : what are this pickups ? how do they sound compared to '65 fender or SD Antiquities ? Thanks a lot for your help !

I am pretty sure they use AV65 pups in those - really excellent pick ups.

There were three 60th anniv models ...

IIRC the 60th anniv "58" MIA had PV65s, except with black covers. The MIM Classic had "Classic Series ‘60s Jazzmaster single-coil pickups" that I think we only ever saw in that guitar. Of the 3, this model was the only one that never had a parts manual AFAIK, so we never found out exactly what their p/n was or exactly what they were.

I was wondering what they were too, I tried emailing Fender about it. I have a 60th, I changed the pickups for SD hot pickups. But the original pickups do sound good! They will for sure sound more like a Jazzmaster over the P90s.

Re: 60th anniversary Jazzmaster PICKUPS
I'm almost certain the 60th Anniversary are the AV65 in the MIM model. I have the Daphne Blue one and I have an American Original Jazzmaster which does have AV65s in it. They sound identical.
