Is it too early for a NAMM 2020 thread?

Post by Stephen_42 » Sun Nov 24, 2019 6:11 pm

...probably.

But I'm going to post one anyway.

What do you want? What do you predict? Anything else?

To get the ball rolling:

- I want a Jag-stang. (I feel like this one comes up every year)
- I want more stuff in Sherwood Green

Man with everything Fender/Japan has reissued recently the one thing I'd like to see is a reissue of the Maverick/Custom or perhaps the Marauder type 2. The Marauder type 1 will never come out, but I think a Maverick/Custom or Marauder type 2 are a real possibility. I'd like to see those. If a Swinger reissue can come out... then, shit, anything is possible.

American made Starcaster with the correct bridge and electronics.
American made Coronado.
Both in a sub $1500 price range please.
Squier XII would be cool too.

Oh I'd like a Teleacoustasonic 12 string, please! I might be the only person on here who likes these things.

Double neck Jazzmaster with 5 strat pickups.

In all seriousness, I back a thinline jm or a MIM offset tele.

I want a squier xii, sherwood green, and a squier xii in sherwood green. That pink jag is also pretty hard to ignore. I saw an Eastwood Sidejack Baritone in their Cadillac Green, which looked more like Sherwood than what I think of as Cadillac Green (which I normally do not like) - if they made a 12-string in that color I would jump on it.

I was told recently that Surfy Industries is releasing a smaller version of the metal FET Reverb at Namm 2020, and subsequently discontinuing the DIY kit.

a rehash of the 62 reissue/thin skin etc. thing is probably premature and boring but would be real cool imo... accurately spec’d reissues in the offset/weird department, blah blah etc... a reissue bass vi would be very sweet, the xii too.

I want to see Fender producing more new offset shapes. The AR Xii was mildly revised but still new. The powercaster and Meteora are new. The sixty-six is technically new.

Basically, I want to see them keep going. Only a matter of time until they come up with something truly awesome if they do.

Other things - I want to see the Ultra JM's noiseless pickups released as an aftermarket part, and I want them to produce a noiseless Jaguar pickup that works with a proper claw.
