I remember looking at guitar books when I was a kid and wondering what a tele would look like with strat hardware and electronics, pickguard etc... For some reason, when Fender does mash ups I usually don't care for it, but when someone makes their own, I usually really like it a lot. I guess I just respect people making their own stuff.Larry Mal wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 12:41 pmI watched that video and liked it a lot, at the end, he talks about how Fender designed those guitars around a specific ethos for the guitars. I always felt that way also, like just putting a bunch of Telecaster parts on a Jazzmaster body doesn't make it a new guitar or anything interesting. When they made those old Fenders, they designed the whole package around what they were going for.

Re: Possibly Stupid Question
Just watched this. At the start, I felt that I was coming round in someone's basement or in the boat scene in Jaws where they compare scars - See this one? Got that when a the high E on a set of 12s finally snapped and lashed out at me. Overall, it's a good no-bullshit explanation from a guy that you feel has things in perspective. Nice.
