I can’t have one because they’re the wrong orientation! All these new models coming out and no chance at anything other than an American Professional or a Squier CV. It sucks , but it has saved me money. I love the gold anodized guards.

I tried one in a store here in Finland and couple of things stroked my mind. First of all, the anodized guard was way thicker than my JMJM-guard. I wonder why? The guitar was very cool, but it wasn't as nice as my J Mascis. The neck was gloss-finished and the nut looked a little rough. The bridge was nice but I didn't get to play it through an amp and didn't get to try the vibrato, so can't comment about those. I didn't play it for very long, but it seemed really stable and all the frets seemed fine. Overall, a fine guitar with great looks.

i kinda want a surf green one, but i dont really get why theyre 100 euros more than the regular CVs. i mean an adonised guard doesnt cost that much, and that seems to be the only difference. i would also probably change it to a tort or pearl guard because they chose the worst colors tho pair with the adonised guard.
i mean its an fsr, they couldve at least done block inlays or a matching headstock right? im not mad, im just really confused by these decisions

Not for everyone, as I've found out, but this arrived today and I'm loving the black and gold combination.

I really don't need another Squier JM...

oooooooooooohhhh.
Yes, how does it compare to a JMJM? Inquiring minds and all that. I want that to be the same neck.

This is an excellent rectangle

Re: Squier CV 60s Jazzmaster FSR with Gold Ano Guards
Very different neck I'm afraid. This one is glossy and smooth, but not sticky in anyway. The neck in size, I'm not sure about, I think they may be on par, but need to measure them at some point. The pickups are pretty decent, but obviously don't pack a punch like the J Mascis, but are in no way junky sounding, more vintage Jazzmaster. That pickguard is pretty thick indeed! Much thicker I think than any anodized plate I have ever come across. I have a spare Fender anodized one, so may do a swap. Overall, sound is great, and really comfortable to play. I think they went the extra distance with the fret work, as I already own one of the same classic vibes in sonic blue, and that needed a good bit of fret work, this is nice and smooth. I tried it with a fret rocker and everything is spot on.

If the neck profile is similar, and the fretwork is good... that's probably good enough.

Played a green one yesterday. TERRIBLE fretwork. Whereas the CV 70's Jag I played was near flawless. I think you're gonna have to shop around for a good 'un.

Re: Squier CV 60s Jazzmaster FSR with Gold Ano Guards
Guess I got lucky with mine. The frets were near perfect. Then I read on here that a member bought a CV 70s Jag, and had to do a lot of fret work. But, yes I agree, it seems the new CV range are not getting off to a good start in certain areas. Hopefully, Fender will amend these issues as time goes on with their top end Squiers, otherwise they will face a shit storm, and a lot of fans the CV range dropping outJamesSGBrown wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 3:31 pmPlayed a green one yesterday.
