Why are they intent on converting half their product line to Les Pauls? NO THANKS.

So, a passive Jim Root Jazzmaster? Not for me.

As a side note, I hate when they leave the mounting tabs of humbuckers exposed. P90s look fine without rings or a pickguard. Humbuckers don't, IMO.

I'm also tired of their idea of "modern" being TOMs and PAFs. Those are literally 1950's designs, and way cooler and more modern stuff has come out since. And yes, tired of every variation of the JM being "but this time we borrowed THESE 4 Gibson parts!"

:D That said I don’t hate it, in a way where I’d rather have one of these than a Gibson. I’d just not get my ‘Jazzmaster’ itch fulfilled with these.

(Caveat- I own and love my American Special Jazzmaster yet part of me would feel incomplete without half a dozen other guitars with a rocking bridge/vib.)

Hey, I've got two MIJ HH Jags, a blacktop P90 Jag, and had an AmSpec JM, so I'm not opposed to hardtail offsets. I'm just tired of them having a rotating constellation of Gibson specs and parts.

It would be cool, if they insisted on relying on non-Fender-part variations, to get more filtertrons, dynasonics, hilotrons, lipsticks, goldfoils, or MFD pickups, for example.

Yet another Jazzmaster for people who really really truly dislike Jazzmasters.

I‘m sure that 20 years from now, these will be hated as much as 80s Power Strats. It’s basically a Les Paul anyway...

Agree, I’d rather have a Strat hardtail than an AOM. Or fake WRHBs.

For that money, I'd troll Reverb for a used Fano or something.

I love these, they look great. If you want a vintage styled Jazzmaster just buy a vintage style Jazzmaster, it's not like there aren't a million other options.

I wonder why they didn't just call these "Aerodyne" Jazzmasters. Seems like a direct continuation of that series.

I thought what made them Aerodyne was the radiused top/bottom:

Yes I'm sure that's where the name comes from, but a) the strats and teles didn't have as extreme of a curve from what I recall, and b) look at the light on the blue one pictured above. Seems like the only way the sides would be lighter than the center would be that it's slightly curved. It's hard to tell on the black, just as it was with front-facing pictures on the original Aerodyne series.

In defense of Fender Japan, they did release some cool stuff recently.
