New Antigua guitars from Fender Japan including a Mustang!!

New limited runs of Antigua guitars from Fender Japan that feature maple necks.
Saw that there was a Mustang in the lineup and had to make a post!

Antigua is such a strange finish, I don't know why but I like it on some models. I used to have a CIJ antigua Telecaster, and these are pretty tempting. The Tele and the Mustang look great.

To each their own, of course, but these antigua finishes are UGLY, boy. They look like rotten chicken meat, really. Looks like it smells bad too

But I'm really happy for anyone who enjoys it because I've never seen a Mustang with an antigua finish

As much as I don’t really like toilet-paper white maple, it is refreshing when a new guitar ‘looks’ new. Then again I’m just in Mustang mode.

Antigua finishes have always given me really specific synesthesia of that musty nicotine reek of a heavy smoker's car.

Man, there's no antigua P bass.

Years ago I saw one in a shop, it had yellowed to a lovely shade almost of avocado and had a black pickguard. That thing was sexy. Antigua looks good with black guards, but pretty ooky with the normal ones. Anyway, I wanna antigua PJ with a black guard.

As far as I know the Mustang is the only offset guitar currently in this limited run (there is also a jazz bass).

Glad to see it's white-fading-to-grey rather than the horrid avocado tones of their previous "antigua" finish. I still suspect many people like Antigua for its rarity rather than its looks, but I'm half and half I guess.

I think it looks alright (not that Strat, the pickguard is a mismatch) - but I'd much prefer most other options. I had to refinish my antigua baritone though, because I didn't want anyone to get the impression that I go for the Hawks. I hate the Hawks.
