Seems it's not an all exclusive Chicago Music Exchange Model...
https://www.thomann.de/at/fender_ltd_pl ... pf_ibm.htm now up for preorder!
I still dig the Vintera IBM a lot more... but would probably give it a mint-guard...

Interesting. Maybe the contract clause is just exclusivity within the US. It would be interesting to know of Thomann has exclusivity in the EU market.

So, has anyone actually got one of these now that they’re out? Your impressions, please.

I love the 4-way switch i put in my Jazzmaster. I haven't tried the pau ferro necks yet, but this guitar is dope as hell.

I think it's funny that people are all up in arms about the pau ferro, though, as if it was somehow a cheap substitute. A former client of mine paid huge amounts of money for his fancy custom strat, and he paid extra for the pau ferro board because it was what SRV had on his strat.

The Pau Ferro fretboard on my PartsMaster is awesome . Really beautiful . It just needs some lemon oil when it’s dry ...

EDIT: nope, white headstock for the Shell pink one and black for the Sunburst. I need to have my eyes tested :jacked:

I LOVE how the black headstock looks on the tobacco burst.

Less enthusiastic one the shell pink/white top. I'd have stayed all pink.

My thoughts exactly. White on pink seems a bit odd. Pink on pink would be my choice. I have always felt black headstock suited sunburst so much better than bare ones. The Yamaha SGs did this in the 60s and I'm so happy to finally see it in an official Fender!

Perhaps they should make an all pink and an all white.

And an all black. And LPB. And...

They posted two ~1 minute YouTube vids today for these, one in pink and the other in burst.

As a Tele lover who’s converted all of mine to 4 way switches, someone talk me out of this for a first Jazzmaster...

Really. Please. I’m begging.

Also, I can’t believe I live a mile away from CME and can’t look at them or play them in person — thanks a bunch, Covid.

I bought one of these about a month ago for $650. I enjoyed reading your thoughts on potential mods!

Initially intended to get the rhythm circuit wired in, would appreciate any thoughts on alternate options.

Has anyone else gotten one of these? How are the necks? Thinner or thicker?

There may not be many of these in the wild yet. Per CME, there were 25 pink ones that shipped at the end of May. The sunburst one's estimated ship date has gotten pushed back a couple of times already, and it's now 8/18/2020 even though that date doesn't seem to be posted anywhere. I didn't ask about the IBM ones.

If I get my hands on one (I like the black headstock on sunburst!), I'll post pics and impressions... I'm overdue for giving back to all the OSG members I've learned so much from.
