Jaguar saddle question.
Hi Guys
I have owned a Japanese Fender Jaguar reissue from new which I bought in 1996. It has the Fender 50th anniversary sticker on the back and has always been my favorite guitar to play. Which is why it always mystified me when I read people had problems with the strings popping out of the saddles. My brother in law recently bought a 93 Japanese Jaguar which I tried today. The saddle is totally different and I had 'the problem of the strings popping out of the saddle'.
So was wondering if anybody had any information on this design and what its called? Its like a tune'o'matic, but they can also be moved sideways. Here's a picture:

Re: Jaguar saddle question.
Looks like it is on backwards too. The deeper groove should be with the low E instead of the high one to help keep the strings in the rollers. (but if it works, it works.)

Yeah, its works superb, never had any strings popping out.
That's the one! Cheers, that makes sense as Fender did use Schaller parts, but this saddle on a Jag seems quite rare.
Trick of perspective I'm afraid, all grooves are identical size.

I had one of these on my Heritage Les Paul. Awesome bridge, highly functional and perfect design.

I have the same bridge on my Custom 77 lust for life with a Bigsby .
It’s a great bridge but the radius is 14 .
And the radius of the CIJ 93 Jaguar should be 7,25 .

Re: Jaguar saddle question.
Just had a measure, my '96 model is 7,25 and the saddle is a 12 radius! The things you learn, I've had it for over 20 years and its always been my favourite for feel and play ability.
Makes me wonder whether or not these were stock on the 96 anniversary models or if it was just put on at the music shop I bought it from. Either way, I'm thankful they did!

The Schaller STM is the go-to solution when you want to change string spacing on a TOM. 48.5 to 57.5mm range. Spec-ed as 12" radius.

It really is a great design. Looks cool, too, unlike its equally great sibling, the 3D hardtail bridge.
I had an STM on a JM with a Bigsby and it worked like a charm, but in the end I wanted the traditional JM appointments and ended up routing and redrilling. The inserts were 6.5mm (or something like that) so it isn't a drop-in replacement.
