Congrats! They are certainly put together well and feel amazing under hand. AVRI's are just as nice but it's really about preference, as the neck profiles are different. I have an AV65 and three AVRI's and prefer the AVRI neck profile but a lot of folks prefer the heftier AV65 profile.

Congrats! I have a 62 AVRI and it's my favorite guitar. The neck pickup is my favorite pickup of any guitar. I'd love to get a 65 AVRI but hard to justify when I have a perfectly good 62.

I also have a Swart AST. It loves the Jazzmaster, and the Jazzmaster loves the AST. I like to set it to the edge of breakup, which is about 7 on the AST. The AST has the greatest tremolo I've ever heard. Use the neck pickup, turn on the tremolo, set the AST to 7 or 8, and hit a first position Em chord really hard. Heaven.

I had the stock bridge of my Jazzmaster replaced by a Mustang bridge when I first got it, and I'm happy with that.

Don't forget to play behind the bridge, especially with effects like fuzz and delay. If you're that kind. ;D
Thanks Ice Tre,
I usually run the AST at about 4 or 5 on the volume and let a Swart Atomic Boost push it into breakup. I have the Fuzzy Boost too but that is a different animal. For mine, 4 to 5 is near breakup especially with higher output pickups. I am also running a 5Y3 rectifier so there isn't as much headroom as the original rectifier. I agree with you. The tremolo and reverb are just delicious. I have recently discovered the Caroline Kilobyte lo-fi delay with this amp. The pedal allows to boost the trailing delays. It sound amazing with the AST. Plus, the Havoc switch creates amazing musical stupidity.

Tomorrow, the Jazzmaster (aka Dave) goes to my luthier for a full setup and Mastery install.

One of my friends had an original 60's Fender Jazzmaster which was beautiful to look at & sounded ad good as it looked... One of the best Guitars I've ever played!

After trying every Jazzmaster available in the U.S. , excluding Custom Shop, I bought an Olympic White AV65 Jazzmaster. Had a Pro Set up done including the Proper Set up for the Tremelo, which works perfect. No need for an Aftermarket Trem. I did put a Mustang Bridge but not sure it really needed it. My AV65 Jag has Stock Bridge & I have no problems with it...

If the complete Set Up is done correctly these Guitars perform excellent Stock.. No Mods needed..

IMO it is as close to my friends Original as I've seen or played.. I could see myself getting another..

Also my Thin Skin came with and still has the original bridge. I got a Staytrem (like a month before they cut off the US!) before I even had the guitar and I’ve never put it on because it’s feel and sounds great as is. When I finally change the strings that might be a different story though.

I really need to just take a class on setups because trying to watch videos or read instructions make me all nervous because of a bunch of little situations, like is the measurement yr telling me to use based on the very first part of the string the ruler reaches or above it or does that even matter, etc. I know it’s something that this forum kind of prides its self on and I need to get in the loop. I’ve put it off too long.
I started setting up my own guitars and got caught up in measurements too. However, at the end of the day I set it up to play clean and it didn't need to be as low as possible.

My 65 ARVI spent yesterday at my luthiers place. The Jazzmaster got most of the attention but I took advantage of the trip by having all my guitars checked and adjusted. The Jazzmaster got a Mastery bridge installed but it also needed a fair amount of setup work such as a truss rod adjustment, nut slots, pickup height adjustment, tremolo adjustment. It plays much better now. I hadn't realized how much better it could be. The 11s don't really feel like 11s anymore.

To adjust the truss rod, we had to pop the neck off so I took the opportunity to have a peek.

The couple nut slots appeared to have been too high straight from the factory.

I spent the day cleaning up my office/guitar room. I have a rack coming from DRS Racks this week to help use the space more efficiently. I took to opportunity to take a picture of the new guitar family and provide a little guitar porn.

very nice acquisition. I played an aztec gold JM in 2015 that I think is the same series.. it was one of the best playing fenders I've ever held and the 2nd best playing JM. I kick myself daily for not buying it. I have one of the new MIM 60th anniversary JMs and it needs some serious nut work/fret rolling/hardware swap to be playable.

Hey there- been cruising these parts for years and have some questions about comparing the AV65 to say a custom shop journeyman or a Chicago Special. I am mostly wondering about the pickups as I know the build will be at least a slight upgrade. I mostly play clean into an amp or two but would love the bet sounding jazzmaster I can get (afford).
It could always be worse

That camera angle makes your J-200 look huge!
