NGD - Squier JMJM
I had an account here a long time ago but it's linked to an email address that's deader than Scott of the Antarctic. So, new account.
Hi. I'm Metthew, from Antarctica. Nice to meet you again, OSG.
I actually bought this about a month ago - but I had a broken shoulder at the time. Sooo I've only just (finally) got to play around with it for the first time. I've almost bought one of these a few times, and they don't come up for sale in Antarctica all that often. So I jumped on it, and then I spent weeks looking at the thing.
To be fair, it does look really good in my fireplace with all my other firewood:
What's worrying is that I think I like it more than my only other 6-string, which is an American Tele that cost a good three times what I paid for this...

Congratulations! Great guitar. And into a Vox, too. (Remember to pick up your Tele occasionally.)
So, I'm guessing you're the sole offset guitar owner representing your continent?

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

So, you're living at a research station? How did you get the guitar to Antarctica? This post begs so many questions...

Are you actually at an Antarctic research station?
I'm an oceanographer and I've mostly focused on the Arctic, so I've been to a few polar conferences and know a few Antarctic people. Do you know anyone at BAS or NOC?

Congrats !! I'm really curious about how you got the guitar shipped to Antarctica etc. I assume it didn't come via the "brown truck" lol!
I'm pretty sure you are the southernmost poster on the OSG. Enjoy that new JMJM and no more broken bones!

Excellent buy, great guitar. At first I didnt bond with it, but now I am in love with the middle position and highs rolled off, played clean through my SuperSonic 22
