60th anniversary JM neck angle and other questions

Post by ags » Mon Jan 28, 2019 7:10 pm

Do the 60th anniversary JMs have the neck angle like the AO series? I'm mainly asking about the '58 JM.

I would love an AO, but I hate the white neck binding (no offense). The '58 seems similar to the AO specs, just with the vintage radius. Any alternatives to the AO in general? Is it possible for a luthier to take the neck binding off? Would custom ordering from the custom shop be a better option?

I would assume that it does not have an angled neck pocket because it is made using vintage specs. I do own a 60th Ann. 58 though and it came set up with a well angled neck and a decent bridge break. It is an awesome guitar and I highly recommend it!

You can't take binding off.
Look for an AVRI if you want vintage spec, no binding.
Or as you said, the 60th.
Classic 60 lacquer and roadworn are also an option.
