8 or 9 years ago, I called out a Fender Pawn Shop Super-Sonic months
before it happened. Specifically, that it would be Fender-branded, and that it could be part of their Pawn Shop line that had started the year before. I think that I had asked for it in green sparkle, though.

That, and the new Mini P-Bass... Which I was tempted to buy to turn into a baritone guitar. But the amount of work to plug & re-drill the headstock doesn't match with my lack of tools.

Yesterday I was thinking about telling Sweetwater to cancel my Super-Sonic order since Fender appears to have stock, but I just got a shipping notice last night. Sweetwater is just a state away and FedEx says I'll have it on Monday.

im going to be honest, im annoyed its not sparkly. i would be tempted if it was and had the headstock matched.

ah, so am i now that I've looked at is side by side with the J Mascis, still pretty cool though.

I've never ordered from Sweetwater before, and the customer service actually kind of blew my mind. They still took the time to get it out of the box, look it over, photograph it from several different angles, and email me the pics before shipping it out. I know you can choose an individual guitar from their inventory when they have multiples, but this is a $350 Squier that they already had an order for before it came in. The serial number was clearly visible, so it's not like there could have been any shenanigans with a stock photo. They also mailed me a coupon for 10% off my next order which showed up yesterday. I'll probably use it for another one of the new Squiers.

I don't want to copy that giant JM image for the fourth time in two pages...but hot damn, a purple JM with gold pickguard? Hot on the tails of a purple sparkle Tele Deluxe? Are you kidding me? I don't need any more guitars, but Squier is basically working its way down the list of things I've been wishing to see for years, even decades...
