No good... GuitarGuitar say
I have double checked with Fender and this is still due early December, we did receive a couple but these were allocated to earlier orders then yours. You are next in line and I will let you know as soon as we take delivery.
So it should hopefully be a jangly Christmas. I presume they didn't get very many in the first batch, or lots of people were really quick off the mark when they went on line.
At least GuitarGuitar are very good at answering emails.
All the cheeses....

I've just played a LPB one in a local shop. Very impressed. It played nicely and sounded great.
Pretty tough to put it down tbh.

I love it.

Custom shop use awful tort, looks the same as they use on a squier. I got a CS '61 Jazzmaster and the tort was appalling. Swapped it out for a gold anodized guard.
Any way sorry to derail the thread a little...

It literally looks like vomit, only real vomit has some depth to it.

Finally, here is mine:
I spent my whole Saturday to understand the wiring and install the rotary switch.
It works perfectly and I am very satisfied.
Finally, it brings one more sound, but is it really important, I'm not sure.
For the look, it's more "vintage correct" of course.

Original XII hasn't a "series" pickups option.
The four position were:
1. neck
2. both pickups parallel, in phase
3. bridge
4. both pickups parallel, out of phase
I wasn't able to achieve a proper switching with a modern rotary switch, so I ended sourcing an original XII switch.

I'm pretty sure that the original 12's were:
1-Neck
2-Neck and Bridge Parallel
3-Bridge
4-Neck and Bridge Series (not out of phase)
If it was out of phase I think I definitely remembered that. Thats a very distinct sound that I definitely would not have liked.
It was a while ago I played one, but I remember liking all the positions sounds.

Hey, this question to those who have done the series mod.
How does it sound? I was planning on doing it, even ordered the parts, but it seems the pickups have a fairly high output.
It seemed that if they were put in series that they would end up being very loud and distorted sounding? Not amplifier type distorted,
but garbled and unclear sounding.

No, I have a friend with an original XII from the '60s and I sourced an original rotary switch. When you solder that in the way you find in the schematics, you have an out of phase parallel settings on position 4. That gives an almost acoustic guitar sound, with few bass and a lot of treble. The series options with split coils delivers a timbre that is quite useless.
