Re: Squier Classic Vibe 70s Jaguar
Wow! I find the neck on my VM Jag very thin. Too thin, even.

I was also surprised by how thin the Bass VI neck was compared to the PS Bass VI, and that wasn’t fat as well...

Interesting. The VM 70s Strat neck I used is much fatter than my J Mascis, but I guess it's apples to oranges.

Re: Squier Classic Vibe 70s Jaguar
The neck on my VM Jag isn't really thick, but it's not bad either. I've tried some VM JMs that had thinner necks. Some of the CV Teles I've tried have also had really thin necks that I can't bond with. It's a shame since they are well-made guitars, but I'm not sure why some of those necks are so thin. I'm hoping the new CVs will be different. For me, something in between the VM and the Mascis in terms of thickness would be nice.

looks like the surfgreen is not much saturated. I hoped it would be more "greener"...

Re: Squier Classic Vibe 70s Jaguar
I was perplexed by the color in the video. It looks much closer to the Squier sonic blue. It could be a one-off in SB since the guy is a Fender employee. The other videos that show the surf green, definitely look more green.
Fender if you are reading this, please release it in sonic blue and/or daphne blue!

Re: Squier Classic Vibe 70s Jaguar
It felt like the one John Dryer was playing was really greenish/blue while the other one was almost white...
I honestly was already almost over the idea of buying that guitar... but man, it looks and sounds really cool! Can't wait to try one of these!
...Still thinking about putting some transparent blue metallic laquer over it to give it a IBM/FMS kind of touch. Could this work?

The other Jaguar in the video was a Johnny Marr Jag I think, at least it had a different switch and plate on the lower horn. Definitely white though.MayTheFuzzBeWithYou wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 3:15 amIt felt like the one John Dryer was playing was really greenish/blue while the other one was almost white...

Re: Squier Classic Vibe 70s Jaguar
The CV 70s Jag sounds and looks pretty good, but why does the guy in 2nd test call it a "jag-wire"??? I would think Fender would insist on getting it right in a video!! I've played these things for over 50 ears and don't ever recall anyone "back in the day" mispronouncing it like seems to happen so often these days. Is it some kind of millennial thing or what??!!
The word is correctly pronounced "jag-war" ( edit - I guess the Brits like to say "jag-you-are")
Rant over.....and I do look forward to trying one of these CV's and compaering to my VM and AVRI

Here's how I approach it- the guitar is pronounced "jag-war" and the automobile is pronounced "jag-you-are". Easy peasy.
But...THERE IS NOTHING CALLED A "JAG-WIRE", DAMMIT!

Squier Sonic Blue is an abomination! Is like they put the guitar on bleach. It's too light to be blue, but too blue to be White... I'm all for Daphne Blue thoughprospect wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 11:00 amI was perplexed by the color in the video. It looks much closer to the Squier sonic blue.
