Squier Classic Vibe 70s Jaguar

Regardless of the reason for the factory switch, I'm going to remain skeptical. The main thing has been that every Chinese CV I've played has had the most delightfully trimmed/leveled/polished frets I've played on anything short of the AV line. No sprout in dry weather, no fretting out or buzzing on high frets. Smooth as glass. Fantastic enough to make me buy two strats even though I don't particularly like strats.

I'm reluctant to chime in after all the back lash I've received in the past from VM Owners & my previous expert inches with them...

I own a fabulous CV 50's Tele that is a great Guitar with excellent build quality. The quality control is evident on these Guitars..

After going through several VM's each with it's own set of problems I returned them all & gave up with them... Very poor Quality Control in my experiences. None of them should have been sold to the Public.

I ended up with a JMJM that's quite good now (after the most time consuming Set Up of any Guitar I've ever owned) & 2 AV65's. A Jag & a JM.....

IMO these new ones are at best a Wait & See if they're coming from the same Factory that produces the VM's......

so it obviously comes in Black, Sunburst and Seafoam green. The seafoam green one looks really nice, so does the black one
I would try one just for fun, I like block inlays but not a big fan of binding (the look is ok but not the feel), so nothing for me I guess but still a very nice choice for many people out there.

i got a sneaky feeling these are just slightly flashier VM's they still have the skunk stripe on the neck and indonesian made, i really don't think these will be of the old classic vibe ilk!

Looks like the JM is not B&B. Indian laurel fretboard. But some interesting colors I guess.

Yeah, that's a shame. Maybe they didn't want to cannibalize sales of the 60th anniversary B&B JMs?

At least it's possible to get a B&B JM in several colours right now between the 60th and TVL. Fender doesn't make a B&B jag currently so the Squier fills a big hole in that market IMO.

The ICS serial number and text on the stock photo suggest this is the first Indonesian Classic Vibe (check check). This gives me hope, because there are some big necks on certain VM Jags. My VM Mustang neck is pretty much a baseball bat.

The surf green jag looks awesome.

But I've had a vm jazzmaster and bass vi. Sold both of them because they never were quite right while my 2009 classic vibe jazz bass is a rock solid and straight up lovely instrument. I really hope these are on par with the old CV series.

Just a weird thing I noticed but has anybody else realized that the Squier logo changed. The "q" at least is different. Interested to see if this is the case with all Squier guitars or just these new Classic Vibes.

I just gotta say that i'm impressed how Fender/Squier can keep a secret. Knowledge about this must have been floating around for a pretty long time, from drawing board to the factorys.

I have the VM surf green Jaguar with a perfectly matched headstock and will trade that matching headstock-equipped neck for one of these new Classic Vibe necks. It’s my favorite and I am elated that they did this.

Now if only it came in a metallic color other than CAR, and it does f even look like it comes in CAR so it’d make it the most amazing guitar ever if they put them out in the same Sherwood Green that’s used on the classic vibe 50s Strat.
