Here you can see route for the offset trem: https://www.instagram.com/p/Br0m2RMnZ9n ... hare_sheet
Thanks for that page link. Instagram hide their image links but you can trick your way to them. Here's that route for Ron's trem, which adds some context to Ron's description post ...

The function is a basic “why didn’t I think of that?” design. It essentially a Strat’s inertia block pivoting on a precision machined knife edge (not stamped steel), and top loaded like a JM.
The top plate is purely aesthetics, covering the internal bits. I’ve got a few shapes for this plate depending on the body and bridge it’s coupled with.
There’s a rear cavity along with springs and claw like a Strat’s.
I had originally drawn it with 2 fulcrum grooves to choose from: JM-feel or Strat-feel.
After stringing up the first proto it was more like Floyd-feel or Strat-feel...oops.
I under estimated just how little pivot angle is required to achieve the desired effect.
Added a third groove and that nailed it.
Another one ..

Thanks for posting, Ron.

I think most of us OSGers know there’s a lot of feedback and ideas here based on direct experience with guitars and gear, so it’s exciting and gratifying to have a builder like you (and in your position) come here and converse.

Please stay a while. Definitely look around, definitely share your ideas and opinions. Your work hits right at the heart of a lot of F-style fans here.

This is all very cool work. Love the innovations. And awesome to have the builder in the conversation. Welcome, Ron! Good luck at NAMM.

Definitely count me in for the lime gold color-way.

Thanks for stopping by, thanks for the follow up. It's a nice looking guitar and I'd be interested in knowing the neck radius and such, also, those two pickups kind of close together by the bridge there, what's the story with that? Do they combine in some way, like a reverse wound/polarity humbucker at times, that sort of thing?

Also, good to see that bridge in use there, I was hoping to see that in larger production and offered as an aftermarket. Not everyone likes it but I think it looks sharp, functional and simple.

Good luck with your time at Fender, you can tell them that Larry said that they need some fresh ideas out there and you seem to have them so they should get you on. Have fun at NAMM!

I think the two pickups by the bridge idea is that they can be combined in series for a humbucker type pickup and sound like one because the proximity from each other is correct or just handled as typical singles.

yo, ron. quick question. a big thing for me is how sensitive a trem is. how sensitive is is compared to a normal strat trem or a jazzmaster trem?

That was my thought as well. Or something along those lines.

Hello,

1 thru 4 on the switch is just like a Strat. Position 5 (rear position) is both pickups in Series as suspected.
I originally put a 6-way in there, for some reason we have them in stock. 5 Strat settings + the Series.
Two things I didn’t dig: Middle alone and Bridge alone were very similar sounding and the other thing was the 6-way confused the heck out of me. Had to keep “starting over” from one end or the other and counted clicks.
5 minutes of that nonsense and I pulled it out.

I will say this, position #2 (neck + middle) is magic. Super quack and funky, I love it.
I’d be happy with a 1-way switch in there ;)

Cheers!
