Johnny Marr signature bridge?

Post by JagWire » Sat Jan 19, 2019 10:45 am

Can someone clarify, what are the definitive specs on the Johnny Marr Signature bridge?

I was under the impression it was 7.25" radiius and 52mm string spacing...but everywhere I look I seem to see conflicting descriptions. Some say 52mm with 9.25" radius, others say 55mm with 9.5" radius, and some say its like the 7.25" straytrem with 52mm spacing.

Anyone?

Much appreciated

They're 7.25. First run had the incorrect 55. The newest ones are supposedly correct

Yep it is kind of confusing ... ;)

Original Marr bridge was p/n 0091905000 with ~56mm E-E spacing ..

But the LPB Marr released in 2018, and possibly other colours since, has one with the narrower ~52-53mm string spacing, which seems to have a new p/n 7712971000 ...

Both are 7.25" radius.

Note that Riley lists the newer 7712971000 as an American Pro / Marr bridge. But the Am Pro jag/JM bridge (7709942000) is 9.5" radius to match its neck (and also has the wider string spacing) ... and I am not aware that anyone has seen the 7712971000 bridge on an American Pro.

So does the M1 Mastery Bridge correct the string spacing issues? It's a bit hard to tell but I think I'm reading correctly that it is 52mm spacing.

While on the subject; does anyone know the string spacing on vintage mustang bridges?

I have a 2018 KO Marr, and a 2018 LPB Marr. The LPB Marr has the updated bridge that has the correct spacing, the KO Marr does not (it now has a Mastery bridge on it). Just keep that in mind if you're expecting all Marr Jags from the same time period to have the correct/updated bridge.
