Pickguards

Post by serial » Mon Nov 20, 2006 1:24 pm

I just discovered this place a week or two ago (GREAT site!) so please forgive me if this has been asked and answered before...

When did Jag and JM pickguards change from the nitro (green) guards to the white plastic guards?  I always assumed '65, but I've seen some Jags with the mint guards from '65.  The '66 Sonic blue (I'll have to scan the pics I have of that one, sadly it's long gone) I had for about a year had the white/black/white guard.
Destiny's in her evening gown; you're always running late.
You tell her she looks wonderful but she'll just have to wait.

That change occured in early 1965, its not unusual to see a green gaurd on an early 65, but by mid year -they were white.

Glad you found us here!
I'm a reasonable man get off my case...
