Squier Deluxe 'Iron Man' Jazzmasters Discontinued?

Post by Stephen_42 » Wed Jan 09, 2019 10:41 am

Public Service Announcement:

The 2017 Squier Deluxe Jazzmasters (the J-Mascis-in-all-but-name Candy Apple Red ones) seem to have been discontinued. Both hard tail and vibrato versions. No longer showing up on the Fender/Squier website (in the UK at least), and also no longer available from the big online retailers (again, in the UK at least).

I thought they looked really cool, especially with that red and gold Iron Man colour scheme. Anyway, if you want one new, it looks like now or never.

Hopefully this means they're replacing it with some shiny new cool offesttery at NAMM.

i hope not. i've been keeping an eye out for one for a while. saying that, they were going pretty cheap at one point (i seen one or two places do them for £301)

I've seen £280 if you want hard tail.

I’d really love some classic vibe jazzmaster and jaguars in cool metallic and pastel colors. Maybe a matching headstock here or there

I hope not. Or at least rebirth them in a different color scheme. These deluxes are every bit as good as the mascis model. I've owned both. I feel like when my Deluxe was stock, it was mildly better quality than the mascis I owned out of the shop.

But we also know that there's so many difference between individual guitars that it's irrelevant to compare

They're probably all coming out of the same plant anyway.

Hi. Are they definitely identical to the J.Mascis model, including the pickups?

Are the pickup covers swappable or are they glued on?

How does the build quality compare to the new squier jazzmaster classic vibe model?
