Am I in touch with reality?

Post by Hans kung » Mon Jan 07, 2019 9:09 pm

I have become aware of the new fender Performer Mustang and there is a part of me that Has to have this guitar.....the problem is when I've played strats with modern C's my thumb starts to hurt. The new mustang has the modern C....but my mind is saying " it will be fine, the mustang may have a modern C but the neck is a short scale and the frets are jumbo which means you wont have to press hard and there will be no thumb discomfort, anyway if the guitar doesn't suit me I can always return it to Sweetwater".....My question is....Am I deluding myself that things will work if I buy this mustang?

Can you try it out at a store? I found one at GC and honestly it wasn’t very “modern C” feeling to me. A little thicker.
50,000 watts out of Mexico, this is the BorderRadio...

Very limited selection here on Maui. Debaser please don't tease me that the Mustang is a thicker C.....please God make it be true.

The limited run of American Special Mustangs last year ranged from .85-.88 at the first fret (per Wildwood) - I would wager that the necks are all but identical on the American Performer series, Fender wouldn't bother with new CNC programming for no reason.
