American Special Jazzmaster LTD Bigsby Serial Number

Post by Sammorejazz » Mon Dec 24, 2018 7:20 am

So I have one of those Bigsby Jazzmasters from 2016, and the serial number is US16001795. Which would mean made in the US In 2016 number 1 right? But there’s also the 795 which I have no idea about. Anyway, if there’s someone on here that could tell me what the SN means that’d be great! Thanks in advanced.

I googled Fender serial decoder and tossed your serial number in there. It came back with this:

Your guitar was made at the
Corona Plant (Fender), USA
in 2016 or 2017
Production Number: 1795
My Offsets:
Fender Cyclone - 1x Vintage White, 1x Pewter
Fender Mod Shop Jazzmaster - Fiesta Red

Huh, that’s strange... supposedly they only made 250 (some say 500) of each colour which obviously doesn’t add up. But I guess they could have made more!

It was just the 1,795th neck that they slapped a serial number on, regardless of model. I've seen serials with a string of zeros after the year ending in a single non-zero digit, all the way up to stuff over 100,000.
All pain and troubles melted away like lemon drops beyond the contrails across the sky.
