New G&L Doheny V12
I mentioned it briefly in another thread, G&L hinted through Facebook posts that an MFD humbucker equipped Doheny was imminent; they snuck it in under the radar, these are already available for purchase
If the gold one had a Saddle Lock bridge, I might not be able to resist. Love the old-school black crinkle and red/white switches:

I think this is cool because (at risk of involving the "what is a real jazzmaster?" thread) it's so obviously not trying to be a jazzmaster. I've not played a lot of G&L guitars, but I really should try some out. I wonder what those switches are for or if they're just coil taps NEVERMIND they're series/paralell/split.

Per the auction descriptions the switches are Series/Split/Parallel each pickup.
I'm curious whether under the covers, the pickups bear any similarity to F100 pickups (pictured somewhat in my avatar) - Though other G&L Facebook posts indicate they are at least a specialty wind:

Re: New G&L Doheny V12
About a month ago I heard rumors of two new models of the Doheny G&L has coming out. One of them being the V12.
Although, when I first heard of the "V12" I was hoping it would be a 12 string...

^That'd be quite useful- and fill a niche Fender hasn't bothered with.
Actually in a few other recent Facebook posts, they partially restored an old prototype of Leo's that uses active circuitry with what looks like Elec. XII pickups. Uses a prototype hardtail bridge; they bolted on a Coronado neck to get it playing.

Says on their Facebook page that the pickups are wound narrow with formvar like the single coils. I bet they sound unique.

That has to be the best split coil HB sound I've ever heard, although so much of that demo sounds like crap I can't be sure ... -E
