This is a weird one, but does anyone know why mine isn't actually Purple?

It's more ruby slipper red... hehe.

I have seen pics on the net of very purple ones as well as ones that look like mine...

Mine was more ruby red. Dorothy would have loved it.

That's true. I don't think that any of them are truly "Dinosaur Jr. Purple" of purples. They are all ruby red and the dark parts are deep ruby red tilting toward purple.

Yeah it's absolutely not purple, it's a beautiful shade of what I'd call wine red or something, but never purple.

Glad it’s not just me... but there are actual pics online of them purple. It’s weird.

I bought some AV 65 pickups for it... will be interesting to see how much of a difference it makes without switching out all of the electronics.

These are 'one that got away' caliber to me, a Best Buy near me had one in stock for *years* until they shut down the music section (which was always a cooler feature of Best Buys.) They priced it at a pretty deep discount at one point; and aside from that I could have had one back before people started gouging on any MIJ Fender in general.

(It was a pretty honest 'purple' shade.)

So let's say I wanted a different bridge...

The posts for the ABR-1 style bridge are *directly* screwed into the body... gonna be a bit hard to get them out...

What are my options???
