Fender Limited Run Mahogany Offset Telecaster (MIJ)
What a mouthful. But y'know... this thing.
Are these out in the wild yet? (Reverb seems to suggest they're on preorder and will ship at the end of the month.) Super impressed with the quality of the MIJ paisley JMs, and I've been looking for a reasonable Telemaster-type lately. The neck P90 seems like a great fit too.

Stupid chunky baseball bat neck. Everything else about this is "buy immediately".
I can't find any specs on the neck depth, but that's what it looks like, right?
I really want my ASAT Classic Alnico neck and pickups on a Jazzcaster.

I was going to hit "Pre-order" then I saw your post and checked the specs, which say it's a U neck. It can still be OK, but it's not a good sign for those who are not into chunky necks. Assuming it is the same as the U on the Thinlines, it is fine, but not my favorite neck.
I have been eyeing this guitar for a while since it was released in Japan and was priced around $1.4-1.5k. I think this is an incredible deal given how much of a sucker I am for natural brown wood guitars.
Shit. What should we do?

Those have been out in Japan for awhile. Good to see Fender recently exporting batches of various interesting Japanese offsets instead of just keeping them in Japan.

Beautiful and reasonably priced, by Fender standards.
A P-90 in the neck wouldn't be my choice though. I'm going to concentrate on that to stop me from buying one.

They are available in the UK now. Started to arrive along with the pink paisley jazzmasters a few days ago.dropthebeat wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 5:41 pm

Funny, that’s my favorite neck profile. My Tele has it and I absolutely love it. I guess I prefer chunkier necks in general.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Yeah. I'd rather see a JM or Tele neck pickup, but I like P90s.Stephen_42 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 24, 2018 12:37 amBeautiful and reasonably priced, by Fender standards.

Well, necks can be replaced. But it is a mahogany neck.mediocreplayer wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 7:15 pmI was going to hit "Pre-order" then I saw your post and checked the specs, which say it's a U neck. I am trying to tell myself that I don't need another guitar. I LOVE my ASAT. And it has a nice thin modern neck. But... I don't love the body shape. And I could always sell my ASAT if I love this...

Wildwood has a few on their site too. Beautiful guitars. I love the chunky “U” shaped necks - the bigger the better IMO. What I don’t like about those is the weight, and that they’re poly finish. Those are gas killers for me.

Re: Fender Limited Run Mahogany Offset Telecaster (MIJ)
I've decided to hold out and build my own. Or have one built for me, depending on my time availability.
I'm thinking chambered body to relieve weight, ASAT Classic bridge with individual brass saddles, ASAT Classic Alnico bridge pickup, ASAT Classic MFD neck pickup, and I want to do individual volume knobs. Might go walnut, might go mahogany.
I got another project before then.
