Going to see them this Monday. Saw them in 2013 and it was amazing.

Reverb are also running a MBV contest. No smoke without fire, right?

Talking of Reverb, I just watched a pedal review with xPGS- Andy and was thinking he's destined to have Kevin Shields' hair in a few years.

I predict it will take way longer to come out and cost way more than anyone could have imagined.

Going by the latest signature guitars Fender has released like the Troy Van Leuen, Johnny Marr and the one from the Radiohead guy, I think there's not enough to make a Kevin Shields signature guitar unique. Unless they went for something like a trem arm that functions like his, but I really doubt it. I don't think we'll see a Kevin Shields signature jazzmaster. But then the J Mascis guitar wasn't all that unique apart from the gold guard and chunky neck (and initially, the purple sparkle). Who knows!
Jaguar > Jazzmaster :)

TOM bridge on the Mascis, too. He puts TOMs in all of his guitars.

Maybe it'll come with a roll of electric tape and set up for a random tuning out of the factory :D

Maybe Gibson-like robo-tuners with push-button pre-programmed tunings ? Not quite the right vibe ? ;)

EDIT: Damn ... you can actually buy such a system for the JM ... didn't know that ....

It's the black pickups on the deluxe that make it ugly. Slap some white covers on there and you're (red and) golden.

Naaaaaah lots of people were claiming gold on red was the worst combo and everything ;D ;D . But I agree with you, white pup covers and you're set.

It's the red used. Kevin's guitar seems bit less "bright" of a red.

Maybe it could be an exact replica of the red 'Loveless' Jazzmaster complete with paint checking and red tort.
Although Mr. Shields seems to like the Gold anodised scratch plate or "metal thingy" as he calls it :D
Oh and I reckon it should come with a reverse reverb effect switch ;)
May the Fuzz be with you

Ha. Speaking as a guy who found out last year long hair is no longer compatible with what's on my scalp, Kevin really needs a hair cut. Sometimes long hair just doesn't work anymore!

I love Shields/MBV, but shouldn’t have Fat Bob Smith gotten one even longer ago?!
