Honestly I find the JM to be a better sounding guitar. But I just love the Jag. It has the looks, the chrome, the short scale and the versatility.

This poll was done a while ago, and the JM won. I just voted Jaguar this morning and the Jag was ahead, but JM just took over again LOL
Jaguar > Jazzmaster :)

I am addicted to my JM - I can make short scale work, but long scale neck is definitely more comfortable for me. I would love to have Jazzmaster with Jaguar pickups though !

Yeah I figured people make polls like this every once in a while on here... BUt another one can't hurt, can it?
I was actually surprised to see the jag take the lead early on. I know a lot of people like them of course but whenever I hear people talk about offsets out in the world jazzmasters seem to be what people mention most of the time.

I've always preferred Jazzmasters because, all things equal, they seem to stay in tune and intonate a little better than shorter scale guitars . I've always thought that of 25.5 scale guitars... and the only Jag I ever borrowed just wasn't as in tune, although it looked cool.

It's like if someone asked which of your kids, albeit different, do you love more. I love them both equally for what they are and what they do differently. There is no way I could pick one or the other. Regardless, I'm interested to see the results. Knowing this forum, I bet it is an easy win for the JM

I bought my first two offsets, Squier VM Jaguar and Jazzmaster, in the same week a few years ago (I'm weak).

I played both of them for a few months and made the very hard decision... While I love both, the Jazzmaster scale is better and the sound is more unique. I do love the chromed out Jaguar, but the Jazzmaster is the better instrument, in my opinion.

Jaguar. The looks, the feel, the versatility and customization... No brainer.

Another vote for the Jaguar. Love 'em both, but I just like the more percussive (?) feel of the short scale a bit more. And it looks cooler with all dem chrome bits.

I always thought that I was a jazzmaster guy, until I got my first jaguar and then had a partsguar built. It wins for me. Love Both but the Jag has a slight edge.

Just checked back on this thread to find a 50/50 tie. The answer "both" really is the correct one! Each has its stronger points and while similar in ways, both are very unique. Love both models.
