We can all understand quite easily why Ford is not still making the same cars as it was a century ago. There are so many practical considerations in cars that come into play: price, safety, efficiency, speed, and reliability. They are basically self-contained and continually improving due to better technology, but also because they can wear out.

Traditional instruments just don't have that relentless push of technology behind them, and generally they don't wear out nearly as quickly. They are more or less tools used in an art and not to get groceries or take the kids to school. There is something to be said for being able to plug into any guitar amplifier or pedal made in the last sixty years just about anywhere in the world. You can't get obsolete. The electric guitar world is filled with failed new technologies that withered on the vine. I see that as more of a strength than a failure. The sound of the electric guitar has been pretty great since it started, and it has only gotten better in terms of options.

It's weird being in a thread where I'm not the one making the obscene tirades.

I didn't think I'd live long enough to witness Larry lose his shit and delete all his posts again in a thread LOL

Actually I erased all my posts in the stultifying Smashing Pumpkins thread also. That's twice in one week, and it's not so much that I'm upset, it's just... what the fuck. Why am I wasting my time? I don't learn anything from this site. Why bother?

Enjoy the thread. Apologies for any inconvenience.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Remember it is just a guitar. If you want to push the envelope maybe start your own guitar company?

I went to Sam Ash and compared the $679 PF to the $399 VM Squier.

The PF has a much nicer bridge and the neck is shimmed or tilted back thus providing a much sharper break angle over the bridge. I would definitely want to replace the VM bridge.

I liked the simpler controls of the PF except for the coil tap switch. I didn’t care for the sound of the coil tapped pickup.

The PF played much better and was just nicer quality over all.

Also briefly played the PF JM and it was very nice. Lovely tones.

So for the extra $280 you get alder body instead of basswood, better bridge, and pre shimmed or tilted neck. Obviously the pickups and controlls are pretty different.

I didn’t buy either Guitar tonight but I think the PF is worth the extra. I may go back and get it for my Father’s Day present to myself, unless a good deal on a used jag falls in my lap.

Saw these tonight. Looked pretty but I have zero desire to ever own one. They had a star caster reissue that I was offered a really good deal on but the only way I’d want one is in black or natural and this was the burst one :(

Not sure what to think about this, but seems fairly grounded in fact:

Would be interested to hear from others though who have first hand experience of the new models.

Yeah it would be good to get some more hands on opinions. I really like the look of the tidepool jag

No trem lock nor small headstock in these photos of guitars they actually have in stock:

https://reverb.com/item/13197499-fender ... -sonic-red

It'd be interesting to hear a retailer's response to your complaint if you ordered the one pictured in the stock photos and received the one they ended up manufacturing.

Don't understand why they would put the tremolo in the correct position for the Jag but not the Jazz....weird, lol!
